Talks to Students
Jo Wilbanks , retired Vice President/Regional Manager for Georgia Power Company , recently visited a Business Ethics class to talk with students. At Georgia Power Company , she was responsible for distribution operations, sales, customer service and external affairs, as well as indirect responsibility for transmission and power generation issues. She is active in the Macon community where she serves as chairman of the Tubman African American Museum. She is also a member of the GCSU Foundation Board of Trustees.
Ms. Wilbanks spoke about the importance of ethics to both the employees' career and the reputation of the company. She emphasized to the students the practicing of the key elements of Performance, Integrity and Exposure (PIE). From her personal experience , she shared that incorporating empathy and being yourself , along with your technical skills , can lead to a happy and successful career.
